Rehabilitation after breast reconstruction: everything from A to Z

Breast surgery is a safe operation, the purpose of which is to tighten, correct or enlarge the bust. After plastics, as well as after any other operation, there is a rehabilitation period. And how you behave depends on the final result. It is very important to adhere to the recommendations of the doctor, to exclude any stresses and experiences and, of course, to have a rest.
Breast augmentation. Feelings after surgery
The rehabilitation period is divided into several stages, each of which is characterized by its own sensations and features.
Immediately after the mammoplasty, you will need to wear special clothes that securely fixes the chest and supports it in the desired position. You need to wear it for at least 3 weeks. The first time there will be pain, which is easy to get rid of, taking an anesthetic. You will spend the day in the hospital observing bed rest. The doctor will definitely prescribe painkillers in order to relieve pain, which is characteristic of the first few weeks after surgery.
You can take a shower after 6-7 days. However, using a washcloth and, especially, rubbing the chest, is prohibited.
The stitches made during the operation will dissolve, for they are made with special threads. At first, a scar can cause discomfort, blush, itch, harden — this is normal and poses no danger. The healing time of the suture depends on the woman’s physiology. In some, it becomes not noticeable after a few months or six months, and others only after a year.
As for sensations, in most patients the breast becomes more sensitive, and the halos and nipples, on the contrary, lose some sensitivity, which is restored in a few months. Some time the bust will seem to you much more than you expected, but this effect is created because of edema, which will disappear without a trace in a couple of weeks.
Useful tips
At discharge from the hospital, the plastic surgeon will advise you and tell you how to behave properly after the operation, what to do and what not to do. It is very important to strictly follow all recommendations in order to avoid undesirable consequences, such as, for example, displacement or damage to implants.
After mammoplasty should be avoided:
Heavy physical exertion and shoulder tension. Prefer walks at a quiet pace, so you will speed up rehabilitation.
Diet Nutrition should be fractional and balanced, because it depends on how quickly you will recover, that is, the final result of the operation.
Alcohol Prescribed by a doctor, drugs may be incompatible with alcohol, so the result of his use will be swelling in the operated area. And edema, in turn, can cause unintended consequences.
Smoking And it is better not to smoke not only after the operation, but also before it.
